Losing your keys–hey, it happens, but you hate it. You get to your car after a long day of work and then with exasperation you realize that when you got to work that day you actually left your keys in the ignition and locked the door. It’s a bad situation: other people are going and coming and there you are standing there looking quite silly.

Well, don’t feel too bad, we all do it.  What’s the first thing that flashes through your mind? Call Superman? No, call a lockpick shop, right? It’s amazing that you took your time thinking about that one.

What to do when you have locked yourself out of the car:

You know the drill. Start kicking the tires, screaming at the air and look really distraught. Maybe someone awesome will stop and pick that lock for your easily. But, if you don’t want to wait for them to come you need to know a few things. The phone in your pocket, that phone is going to make it happen. Now, grab it dial a few numbers and talk to the local lock pick shop. Don’t worry they will laugh, it makes their job fun. Would you want to sit around without any humor?

Your home is a little trickier, because it contains all your worldly possessions. Here’s a handy list of what to do when you lock yourself out of your house:

Step 1: Don’t panic, put down that hammer and stop looking like a culprit.

Step 2: Don’t stamp your feet.

Step 3: Stop with the credit card, you cannot pick a lock with that!

Step 4: Call a lock pick shop, they will come to the rescue without any hoopla.

Thank goodness we have cellphones in this day and age. If you use keys to get into your apartment make sure someone else has a copy of the keys. Maybe your friend across the street, maybe your significant other. It’s always good to have a trusted backup person you can rely on.

The last resort, in the event of an emergency: take your purse and smash it into the window.

So don’t worry, when you lock yourself out of the house, car, safe or your space station, a lock pick shop will be there to help you no matter what.

Locking yourself out is part of life, we all do it. Until they make keys that are embedded on our forehead we will continue to lose them. There are so many things going on in our lives, how can we be expected to be perfect? Just grin, laugh and go with it. Then call the lock pick guy.

My husband is currently doing a home improvement right now.  He plans on demolishing our old storage room in our house so that he could expand the kid’s room for our soon to be two kids. But before he starts the demolition job he purchased some tools and little equipments for his safety. One of which are bifocal safety glasses that they will use protect their eyes from any unnecessary injury. He’s also waiting for the confirmation of my uncle who is a mason and a carpenter to help him out thru this project. Oh well, he’s one excited dad! I just hope the room will be finished before the baby gets out.
